Our Pastors

Rev. Dr. P. Mark Hill
Senior Pastor

Pastor Mark was born into a pastor’s home and was raised in Selma, Indiana, until he went off to college at Asbury University in Kentucky. He majored and received his BA in Biology with a minor in Physical Education in 1975. After graduation, he answered his childhood call to the ministry and began his studies at Asbury Theological Seminary. Two years into his degree, the North Indiana Conference invited him to fill a two point charge in the Muncie area. Moving back to Indiana, he eventually transferred to Anderson School of Theology and graduated with his Masters of Divinity degree in 1981. Being a lifelong learner, he matriculated into the Doctor of Ministry program at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis where he received his doctorate in 2002 with an emphasis in Preaching.

Mark married Rebecca Helm in 1977 and together they have three children and three grandchildren. Rebecca is a gifted musician and serves as a music educator in the Kokomo Center School system.

Mark enjoys spending time with his family, mild sporting activities (where he doesn’t end up in the ER!), woodworking, and any book on the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright…oh, and cookies – he likes eating cookies.

Brian Cook

Rev. Brian Cook

Associate Pastor

Brian came to Grace UMC from Southwest Indiana. He is fully ordained in the General Baptist Denomination and currently working through the ordination process with the Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church. Brian grew up just south of St. Louis, Missouri in the Arnold and Imperial area to be exact. He is deeply passionate about his family, St. Louis sports teams especially St. Louis Blues hockey, and spending time outdoors.

Brian cherishes any moment he can get to a beach or a mountain, spending time with a good book, or sharing in conversation with his wife and son. He loves quiet moments on his back patio, riding his bike, and watching his son Caleb compete in sports. Some of his favorite enjoyments in life include any food with peanut butter, action movies, spending time with friends, and hanging out with Michelle and Caleb.

Brian lives with his wife Michelle, son Caleb, and their family dog Mocha. His guiding principle in ministry is simply – love others.
