Local Missions

The local missions that we support locally are:

Third Sunday Collection

The Mission Ministry Team has a Third Sunday Collection, where all food and paper goods items collected go to Kokomo Urban Outreach. Here is the current list of needed items:

Remember to bring your donated items to Altar for dedication every third Sunday of each month.

Mission Tree

The Graces Church’s Mission Tree gave 1200 pairs of sock in 2015 to Pettit Park Elementary School. We are happy to support the local school systems in their efforts to educate their young children.

Kokomo Rescue Mission

Our church supports the Rescue Mission throughout the year with specific needs, but at Thanksgiving time we host the community-wide Kokomo Rescue Mission Day Dinner. We have several volunteers from around the community, as well as our church members, who assist the Rescue Mission in feeding around 400 people annually. Our church members provide the salads and desserts, decorate the tables and serve meals on Thanksgiving Day. Church members also deliver meals to many families who cannot come to the church. It is a lovely way to reach out to and love others in our community.

Every year in February, Grace United Church supports the women and children of Open Arms by hosting the Walk Breakfast in our Fellowship Hall. From 8-11 AM, The Kokomo Rescue Mission provides a breakfast of sausage and biscuits, juice, coffee and fruit. Many teams meet at Grace and have breakfast before or after walking in the cold. Grace church provides the building and greeters to welcome all who support this community-wide fund raising event.

Samaritan Caregivers

Samaritan Caregivers volunteers provide help to the elderly and people of Kokomo with medical problems or disabilities. The volunteers may help with transportation, visit people, respite care for a family caregiver, assist with errands, housework, or with home or yard maintenance. Our church provides financial support to this organization.

The Mission of Coordinated Assistance Ministries is to unify the assistance ministries of the religious community, show God's love, meet needs not being met by community agencies, and cooperate with social service agencies in meeting the needs of our community.

Bridges Outreach

Bridges Outreach is an after-scool program at Central Middle School, Bon Air Middle School, Maple Crest Middle School, and Kokomo High School.

Gilead House
